Olly Newton
Olly is Executive Director of the Edge Foundation, working to make education relevant. He oversees Edge’s work on research, policy and practice and is passionate about connecting researchers, policymakers and practitioners to learn from each other.
Before Edge, he spent twelve years at the Department for Education, most recently as Head of Apprenticeship Strategy. Olly was Specialist Adviser to the House of Lords Committee on Youth Unemployment and a Commissioner on the Independent Assessment Commission. Olly is based in Sheffield where he volunteers with schools and in scouting.
Gareth Conyard
Gareth is CEO of the Teacher Development Trust, which aims to support extraordinary leaders to empower staff and build expert schools.
Between 2003-2022, Gareth worked at the Department for Education on a range of policies from early years to higher education. Most recently, he led the development and delivery of the Early Career Framework and reformed National Professional Qualifications. He also spent two years as an Education Adviser at the Department of International Development, focusing on girls’ education and multilateral investment. Gareth is particularly interested in supporting effective leadership and promoting positive wellbeing, an interest he advances as a trustee of Education Support.
Faiza Khan MBE
Faiza is Executive Director, Corporate Affairs & Foundation at City & Guilds where leads on corporate affairs, communications, and policy agenda to maximise social purpose and business impact.
Faiza also heads up the City & Guilds Foundation which focuses specifically on high-impact social investment, recognition and advocacy programmes and serves to remove barriers to training and employment.
Corrienne Peasgood OBE
Corrienne is President of the Association of Colleges, the national voice for England’s colleges.
Having trained as a plumber she eventually joined City College Norwich as a sessional plumbing lecturer and moved on to become a full-time lecturer, CEO and Principal at City College Norwich before retiring in July 2022, after more than 25 years in FE. Corrienne was appointed an OBE in 2020 and was Vice Chair of Norfolk’s Children and Young People’s Strategic Alliance and FE Board member of the New Anglia Local Enterprise Partnership (NALEP). Corrienne is Chair of the NALEP Agri-Food Industry Council.
