The future of post-16 qualifications
The Education Select Committee held an inquiry examining how effectively post-16, level 3 education and qualifications (such as A Levels, T Levels, BTECs and apprenticeships) prepare young people for the world of work. Our Chief Executive, Alice Barnard was delighted to give evidence to the committee and raised our concerns around the current linear, knowledge-rich pre-16 curriculum which is not developing the attributes and essential skills that young people need post-16. She highlighted the importance of a broad and balanced curriculum and that now is the opportune time to reconsider our assessment system.
