This research focuses on investigating the development and delivery of new higher education institutions (HEIs) (new universities) in England. We previously conducted research looking at the guiding principles behind setting up a new HEI, designing the learning and assessment and the wider student experience, and the role of stakeholders. The research report can be read here.
We are now carrying out further research to understand the experiences of these new HEIs from the viewpoint of the students who have chosen to study at these and the staff members working at these. We are conducting focus groups and interviews with students and staff members at these new HEIs. The aim of this project is to better understand the expectations and experiences of those who have attended and are involved with new HEIs.
