Skills Shortages bulletin 14
Our fourteenth bulletin explores how different approaches to assessing the scale of shortages across sectors and different regions can inform effective interventions
Now more than ever before, the implications of Brexit, Covid-19 and the Fourth industrial revolution are exacerbating the scale of skill shortages across the UK. However, with the closure of the UK commission on employment and skills (UKCES) there is no organisation keeping track of the size and shape of skills shortages in the UK. Noticing this gap, the Edge foundation has stepped forward to convene key organisations and academics to produce a regular series of Skills Shortage Bulletins exploring skills shortages across key areas of the economy.
